Winning on the district level in 2019 and was most recently nominated for the 2020 Lifechanger of the Year Award. The ideation behind Leaders To Learners was his experiences going through school as a young black male & now teaching as a black male. Never having a black male teacher, college included; for many of his students, he is the first and statistically probably the last. Black males only comprise 2% of the teaching population. Many negative factors come into play without black male teachers in the classroom. Young men of color suffer from higher dropout rates, are less prone to enroll in gifted courses, and less apt to see college graduation.
